Its straight cylindrical working shape provides a defined cutting surface for procedures requiring controlled reduction and preparation of cavity walls and flat surfaces. Manufactured from tungsten carbide, the #56 features an FG (friction grip) shank for use with high-speed handpieces. Microdont lists the #56 with a 0.9 mm diameter, 3.8 mm working length, and 22 mm overall length.
